Qatar COC

When exporting automotive parts, tires, and some electronic products to Qatar, a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is required for import customs clearance. The Qatari government, through the Qatari Ministry of Commerce and Trade (Consumer Protection Department) and the Qatari Organization for Standardization and Metrology (QGOSM), has issued a series of strict regulations for automotive parts and tires.

Qatari exporters need to understand the strict regulations implemented for automotive parts and tires and obtain compliance certificates. Currently, some electronic products are also included.

The local government issued a statement stating that "controlled products can only be allowed to be imported for customs clearance after submitting a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by an authorized certification body in the country of origin The government also stated, "If imported products are found to not comply with the Gulf Standards Organization (GSO) standards, importers will be subject to heavy penalties

The following products are regulated products included in the implementation of the first and second phases of the project:

1) Car tires;

2) Seat belts;

3) Wheel rim;

4) Brake pads;

5) Electric fan;

6) Electric iron;

7) Hair dryer.

Car tires are regulated products, but currently do not require a separate Certificate of Conformity (CoC) because Qatar Customs and the Qatar Organization for Standardization and Metrology (QGOSM) accept Gulf Standard Organization conformity certificates for imported car tires from Qatar, rather than Qatar conformity certificates (CoC).

Each batch of imported goods containing controlled products should apply for a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) issued by an authorized agency before shipment. The Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is a mandatory document submitted by importers for the import clearance of controlled goods in Qatar. Certificate of Conformity (CoC) certifies that the regulated product complies with the corresponding standards of Qatar/Gulf Standards Organization or equivalent international standards.
