      Algeria COC

      Algeria suspends imports of 851 types of goods and adds' free market certificates'!

      On February 16, 2009, the Central Bank of Algeria issued a decree requiring all products imported into Algeria and included in the control list to provide a "product conformity" certificate during customs clearance, proving that the goods comply with Algeria's domestic technical standards and regulations.

      Since August 2009, the Central Bank of Algeria has limited foreign trade payment methods to letters of credit, and product compliance certificates have become one of the basis for bank instrument payments.

      The official name of the certificate is Certifcat de Conformite (Certification de Controle de Qualite des Marchandises).

      Our company has now obtained full authorization from the Algerian government to issue conformity certificates for product conformity assessment schemes. The official name of the certificate is Certifcat de Conformite (Certification de Controle de Qualite des Marchandises).

      This new assessment scheme is aimed at all imported goods from Algeria, with the aim of ensuring that products exported to Algeria comply with the corresponding Algerian and international standards. The primary objective of this plan is:

      1. Ensure that the product complies with the technical regulations and mandatory standards (or their equivalent) applicable to Algeria;

      2. Ensure the requirements of Algerian consumers in terms of product quality, hygiene and safety, environmental protection, etc;

      3. Prevent substandard and counterfeit goods from entering Algeria.

      Program:

      Step 1: The exporter submits a fully completed Request for Certificate Form (RFC), formal invoice, and packing list;

      Step 2: The above application form should provide a detailed description of the goods and provide product quality documents such as test reports, technical parameters, quality management system certificates (if any), etc;

      Step 3: Our company determines feasible implementation plans and applicable standards under the plan;

      Step 4: If testing is required, it can be conducted in our laboratory, where we will coordinate sampling and implement laboratory testing;

      Step 5: On site inspection will be carried out by the inspection office closest to the inspection location after completing the above steps, and all costs will be borne by the exporter;

      Step 6: After the inspection is completed, the exporter submits the final documents (commercial invoice and packing list);

      Step 7: Our company will issue a certificate and mail it to the exporter.
