Mozambique's import control products (control list) need to undergo pre inspection in the exporting country before they can be imported into Mozambique. The products on the control list must comply with this regulation and submit a certificate of inspection (DUC certificate) during import clearance.

When exporting products on the control list to Mozambique, the pre shipment inspection procedure for NormalTCI Nomo testing must be completed according to the following process:

● Importer Notification - Your buyer will provide detailed information about their intended purchase to NormalTCI Testing;

● Inspection Application Form - After completing the information, this form summarizes the details of NormalTCI Nomo testing inspection;

● Physical inspection - all packaging of the goods needs to be inspected; Containers need to be sealed with seals;

Price evaluation and customs code review - NormalTCI confirms the customs code and evaluates the taxable value of the goods for customs clearance and taxation purposes;

● Prepare inspection certificates for importers - NormalTCI will provide inspection certificates for importers;

● Goods clearance - Importers can complete clearance at customs.

Do you export second-hand vehicles to Mozambique?

According to Mozambique Document No. 244/2011, second-hand vehicles imported into Mozambique must undergo pre shipment inspection (PSI), which means that physical inspection must be conducted at the country of origin before the vehicle is imported into Mozambique. If the vehicle is imported into Mozambique without pre shipment inspection, the importer cannot clear customs. Importers need to conduct inspections at the destination port. The destination port inspection (DI) will be conducted at the customs clearance location and the importer will pay the full inspection fee. In addition, the customs will also impose an additional fine of 10% of the NormalTCI Nomo Testing and Valuation (CIF)。
